OUR STORY

We started RE Capture Studios because we both love capturing real moments and telling people’s stories through portraits. Emily fell in love with photography as a kid — she was hooked the moment she picked up her first camera and saw how much a single photo could capture. Rick, on the other hand, grew up wanting to be a filmmaker, always drawn to the power of visual storytelling and how it can preserve emotions and memories.

We actually met in a college photography class. What started as shared assignments quickly turned into creative projects, late-night editing sessions, and eventually a dream to build something together. That’s how RE Capture Studios was born — blending Emily’s eye for detail with Rick’s cinematic perspective to create portraits that feel natural, beautiful, and true to you.

We’re now based in Central Massachusetts, and our goal is simple: to create portraits that make people feel confident, comfortable, and excited to capture life’s special moments.

Emily phillips

Hi! I’m Emily Phillips, a portrait photographer who loves capturing real, genuine moments. I’ve been obsessed with taking photos for as long as I can remember — my camera has pretty much always been glued to my hand. I graduated from Fitchburg State University with a degree in photography and a minor in art, where I really fell in love with working with people and creating beautiful portraits. For me, it’s all about making you feel comfortable and confident while we create photos you’ll love for years to come. I was awarded Photography Student of the Year in 2025 and have had work showcased in numerous exhibitions throughout my four years at school.

Hey! I’m Rick Edwards, a portrait photographer/ videographer based in Sterling, MA. I graduated from Fitchburg State University with a degree in film & video and photography. Ever since middle school, I’ve loved telling stories through a camera — whether it was making short films with my friends or capturing candid moments. In college, I discovered my passion for working with people and creating portraits that feel natural, genuine, and full of personality. I love helping people feel comfortable in front of the camera and turning simple moments into beautiful images they’ll always treasure.
